TechJournal Episode 5 - No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key.

In this TechJournal Episode, I am going to share with you a video about "How to repair a laptop with no bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key". This problem is related to HDD (Hard Disk Drive) where the operating system is not working properly or the HDD itself is defective. If the HDD is defective, with bad sector or damage in file allocation table (FAT) the data on it will not work correctly.

In this video I will describe what I did to come up with a resolution to solve this problem.

TechJournal EP 5 Summary:

1. Plugging of Laptop.
2. Testing the Unit - Identifying the Problem.
3. Entering BIOS - checking if system detects the HDD.
4. Reformatting of old 500GB HDD & Installing of Windows 10 - fail.
5. Entering BIOS - changing SATA mode to IDE from AHCI.
6. Reformatting of old 500GB HDD & Installation of Windows 10 - success.
7. Windows Installation did not work out. I had to replace the HDD.
8. Tested a known good HDD (Fujitsu 80GB) to the unit - problem solve.
9. Replace the HDD with 120GB SSD.
10. Installing Windows 10 to SSD.
11. Last. Installed other programs on the system - Okay.

Disclaimer: All Windows Operating Systems are all in trial version and will expire after 30 days.

Tips: 
1. Pressing "F2" before Operating System starts will Enter BIOS setup.
2. Always remember to remove the battery first, before replacing HDD, Removing the memory, etc.
