How To Repair USB Or PS2 Mouse

If we encountered defect on our old mouse we normally buy new mouse. Like when mouse often stuck, we always get angry and usually replace it with new one. What if you don't want to buy and still want to use your old mouse. Below are the steps to fix your defective mouse.

You need the following.

1. Soldering iron
2. Scissors
3. Masking tape
4. Soldering Lead
5. Small screwdriver (Phillips)

This procedure is only applies to stuck mouse or infrared sensor often turns off for both PS2 and USB Mouse.

Step 1.

Remove the mouse from your computer, remove the screws from the mouse.


Step 2.

Cut the wire that connects to the mouse side about 1/2" or 3/4" inch. Same size inside or about 1" inch.


Step 3.


Solder the wire to connect both end. To connect the wire if the color is red it should be connected to red end also, you should follow its color combination red to red, white to white, etc., to avoid short circuit.


Ste 4.

Tape all exposed wire, each color should be taped to avoid possible short circuit in the future.

Step 5.

Return the cable and cover. Then try your mouse if it is successfully fix.
